ABOUT US
SDS Israel offers tours, courses and activities focused on aquatics and water sports.
Through a network of hired freelancers and independent instructors, SDS offers a range of water activities, lessons, and programs specifically in the areas of sailing, surfing, and diving.
HISTORY
SDS Israel was founded in Herzliya in 2018 by our CEO Idan Berger.

Idan was born in Israel on the shores of the Mediterranean. He grew up with one foot on land and the other taking advantage of the adventures that the sea had to offer. He started surfing at age 5, sailing at age 9, and scuba diving at age 12.
​
After a successful foray into the world of business and investments, Idan decided to turn his attention back to the passion of his youth, and help others discover the joys of aquatic sports.
Over the years, that has meant building a premier hub in Israel for organizing exciting water activities, lessons, and trips with some of the country's most talented aquatic instructors certified in various water sports and activities.
WHAT WE DO
SDS Israel helps individuals and families, children and adults, plan and pursue a range of water sports through professional lessons and exciting programs.
SDS works with our clients and instructors to plan water adventures and tour packages not only along the coasts of Israel, but also abroad, according to the needs and interests of our clients.
We primarily operate on a freelance basis, hiring the most accomplished and passionate instructors for surfing, diving, sailing and other water sports.
SDS Israel works with local Israelis who want to learn how to surf, children of all ages looking to get their feet wet (literally), families and groups that want to sail together, locals and tourists looking to dive in Israel, and anyone else looking to enliven their lives with water sports.

SDS will provide the instructor and equipment – all you need is excitement and a thirst for adventure!
OUR INSTRUCTORS
Idan's decades of experience in the world of water sports, especially in Israel, has given him two key ingredients for success:
knowledge of the best way to learn and explore the sea, and a wide network of like-minded friends who have made a living in the ocean.
SDS Israel has a large 'pool' (pun absolutely intended) of freelance diving, surfing, and sailing instructors who are incredibly passionate and skilled about their respective water sports.
Our instructors and guides can do it all, from teaching local lessons (at their own chosen hourly rate), to scouting ideal diving and surfing spots in Israel and around the world, to managing longer programs that will truly immerse you in the excitement of water adventure.
All of the freelance professionals that work with SDS are certified, with up-to-date accreditations.

CLASS & PROGRAMS
